Easter and the Aquarium

Easter was wonderful. It's always nice to have a 'holiday' and spend time with family to celebrate Jesus! The kids loved the Easter Bunny idea too! This was the first year we hid eggs for Sam and he and Jake both had a blast hunting.... well, Sam did! Jake just liked the eggs once they were found for him!

The Easter Bunny left some prizes outside the kids' doors...

The (infamous) Family Picture that takes about 100 shots...The immediate fam (Sam is NOT picking his nose, BTW)...Off to hunt the eggs!On the hunt for the eggs. It would appear that Jake is actually hunting, but he isn't. He is running from Sam who is trying to take his eggs.I tried to get Jake to pick up his own eggs... NOT interested!Finally, some action!Sam had NO problems!!!He also had no problems taking them FROM Jake!!!Jake finally gave up and let Daddy do it!How we doin' dad???My cutie pies!The Easter Bunny also left some prizes inside Mimi and Pop Pop's in some baskets...Sam's checking his basket...He wanted to make sure that there was nothing else under the 'grass.' Look at my mom's face! She's about to launch to save the grass!!!Our silly bunny...Man-work on the tractor that used to be mine and my brother's!!!Now it's in working order...Sam flexing his muscles... It's coming to you, mom!!!Sam HAD to go fishing (Mimi and Pop Pop are wise enough NOT to put a hook on the end... now!)Look! He caught a Jack!Then Bo discovered a new way to wear Jack out!Jake's just taking it all in!And he kept getting closer and closer!!!

We went to the aquarium this past Monday. Always a treat, and Sam absolutely LOVED the fish... again! Jake really got into it this time too! Every fish tank we stopped to look at, he would point and yell, "SHARK!" He had a few people looking from time to time! He appeared brilliant where there were actually sharks! At the fresh water tanks, we just got funny looks... like, 'What are you teaching this child?'

Jake was fascinated! Since it was not busy (b/c it was a Monday), they didn't have the moving sidewalk on, and we got to spend all the time we wanted in the tunnel!You can't tell, but Jake is in front of BJ and they're all enjoying watching for Domino (the whale shark) to swim by!Deepo (not Nemo, folks!)... Jake cried, and Sam was brave enough to hold his hand!!! Major improvements here!Look Dad! We're under water!!!

Authentic Weekend with my high school girls... we went to a Habitat for Humanity site and picked up garbage! We had a blast! I can't believe they are all graduating this year! :-(Jake being cute and Mommy trying to capture it!
