Fun Days!

Our super busy two months has officially begun! But when I say they're busy, at least I mean with FUN stuff!!!! Trips, farm, trips, family, etc! Fall brings on the best times for us these past few years!

A few funnies/stories:
  • I always put Sam in his bed for nap time first so that I can rock Jake to sleep. The other day, Jake was MIA while I was putting Sam in bed. I went into Jake's room, and he was curled up in his floor with his paci and blankie... JUST ABOUT asleep! Geez, Mom - put the kids to bed, why don't you? I rocked him anyway... I need that time!!!
  • Sam now calls the UPS truck the BYS truck. Not sure why, but I think he just pulled a few letters from the alphabet and went with it. At least he's consistent!
  • My dad looked for some Allen wrenches after Sam left for about a week. Finally, he said, 'Just ask Sam where they are,' so I did. Sam said, "They're in the blue tool box." My dad went and looked, and low and behold there they were!!!! TOO FUNNY!!!! He will start with Sam first next time!!!
  • Sam is INFATUATED with washing his hands! Good and bad for me. One time, I was feeding Jake and realized the sink had been running an awfully long time. As I was getting up to go check, I hear Sam saying, "Mommy, the sink's getting full!" I sprinted only to find the water overflowing into the cabinets and onto the floor. I got it all mopped and cleaned up, and Sam came in to survey. He pointed to the back of the sink and said, "They really should put overflow holes right here." Really!? How did he know that? And why didn't he notice BEFORE he filled the sink to capacity????
  • A typical conversation with Jake: "Kiss my winkie mommy!" (over and over and over) Finally, I ask why I need to kiss it. "It's told [cold]." My response: 'Then stop touching it!!!' I swear he is WAY more interested in it than Sam ever was! I wonder if it's because it didn't get circumcised until he was older????
  • Sam finally isn't afraid of the big playgrounds at McDonald's, Chick-Fil-A etc. Thank God, because that has saved me from many trips up into those things to help Jake!!!! Now, I have Sam get on his knees so Jake can step on his back to get up the steps that are too tall for him! They are SO CUTE!!!! Now, it's not an easy process, and many times Sam has come down and said, "Oh, I forgot Jake!" when I have asked him where Jake is! And a lot of times, it takes a lot of coaching from below! BUT.... I am not up there in the may lay!!!!
  • The other morning, Sam was in my room after he woke up and decided he needed to go potty. He went and came back to my bed and said, I put the new toilet paper on the holder. I inquired about the 'old' one (that was still half full), and he said, "I flushed it down the toilet!" Well.... thank goodness it didn't go, but it was a soggy mess nonetheless!!!!

Our house is officially ready for football season!!!! And of course we are too!!!!
Jake was quiet.... I finally found him upstairs emptying the baby powder... I know I promised no naked pictures, but he DESERVES this to be posted!!!!

Sam and Jake are going to be in Brandon and Mandy's wedding! They're so excited... well, they will be after all the bribes they get to smile and be happy wearing their precious tuxedos! It's actually a good thing for me, because when I put it on Sam, he doesn't move!!!
Shower time! This is a great babysitter! On the weekends, the boys shower with Daddy, but we put them in a few minutes before BJ gets in and they are SO entertained!!!!

After the shower... relaxing and watching a little T.V.
We went to the Pipers' cabin in the N. GA mountains last weekend and had a blast! The kids LOVED their adventure rides to the river to throw rocks!
Sam coloring... and NOT wanting to smile!

NEWS!!!

I can't believe I haven't posted anything about this yet....

On October 3rd, BJ's brother and Mandy are getting married! We can't wait to go to the wedding! It is in Sarasota, FL, so we will be hitting the beach at SOME point while we are that close! BJ is the best man, and the boys are ring bearers. I really hope they will walk down the isle! I am actively looking for tuxedos for them... renting costs as much as it does for BJ, and I have found some we can BUY for cheaper. Just need to bite the bullet! I know this is silly, but I can't wait to have a picture of all 3 of my boys in tuxedos. I think that will be so cute!

After the wedding, we are going to head onto Orlando... you got it... DISNEY WORLD!!!! I don't know who's more excited - me or the kids!? OK, it's me! We're taking the camper and staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness for a week! We are only going to the parks for two days because we don't want to wear the kids out too bad. The campground has lots of stuff to do, so I know this will be a good thing... for them!!!! ;-)

We're excited! October is going to be awesome!!!!

FYI... I DID post some new pictures and stories below!!!!!!!

More Pictures and Stories...

Personally, I think my boys are pretty cute, so I HAD to post some more pictures from the summer! And of course some more funny stories!
  • We can drive by a Wal-Mart, McDonald's, a/the Mall, or Waffle House and Jake recognizes and names what we are passing!? Not sure what to make of this!
  • Sam helped Pop Pop with numerous projects while he stayed with them. My dad could tell him what they were doing each morning for the day, then he didn't need a list. Sam could rattle off everything they were going to do! Saw dust is wood crumbs, they sharpened blades, greased stuff, replaced stuff... you know - your basic man work! Sam's going to be my little gear-head. He is fascinated with how/why things work!
  • Sam also told my parents that 'Mommy got mad at Daddy for putting sand in the yard.' OOPS! I actually DID give BJ a hard time because he used the kids' PLAY sand to fill in some spots in the yard! Nothing goes unnoticed!
  • Sam is still battling monsters at bed and nap time. Last night, BJ told him to just close his eyes. His response: "I don't want to because I see green monsters when they're closed!" My poor precious baby! I SO wish I could make the fears just go away!
  • Jake has started covering his bases when requesting things. His requests usually sound like this: 'Mommy rock you-me,' 'Mommy carry you-me,' 'Daddy fly you-me.' You get the picture! Pretty cute! I try not to ENFORCE it, but I can't help but repeat it back to him!
  • Jake's pottying is still going great. He has had a few accidents, but DEFINITELY knows not to wet his underwear. SOOOOO...... he has started removing them and just wetting on the floor! Well, he's done this twice - once in my closet and once on a decorative table in the family room. Funny, but NOT GOOD AT ALL!!!!!!
  • Still no poop in the potty. He only poops when he wakes up, so he's in his crib (VERY quietly) pooping before I even know he is awake! I don't know why, but I'm not worried, stressed or anything. Poop in the potty will come. If he is ever AWAKE when he starts, then I'll be set!!!! Until then, thank God for pull-ups!
Pictures...
Over the 4th, we went to the lake. Mimi and Pop Pop got the boys a Slip 'n Slide. Sam was mostly concerned with keeping his feet grass-free!
Jake... not so much!

Sam washing Jake's feet off for him...BJ 'teaching' Sam how to Slip 'n Slide! See how far up his head is? It's like he's trying to keep it dry!Jake was trying to go before BJ could even help him!!! Sam's running to wash off!BJ trying to 'teach' Jake...Jake had no problems getting down and dirty! See Sam in the background with the water hose?Mimi got in on the action too! Sam's not so sure because that means he'll get wet and grassy again!Yep, he needs another wash down! Jake, on the other hand, can't get enough!Sam going again... his head is so funny!Sam's going to wash down... Jake's ready for more action!Yep, Jake's going again... Sam's still washing!Sam's still washing... he cracked me up with the waterhose! Jake's outa there!I could be wrong, but I think Jake may have just woken up!!!! Mimi made homemade Banana Ice Cream! YUM!!! Can you see it all over his face? (This is obviously before his first haircut! Funny how you look back at pictures and REALLY see how long it had gotten! Oh! Well!)Yep, it was a crowd pleaser!Sam was telling me something really important... but can you see all the ice cream on HIS face??? Cutie!Ummmm...... I thought it was pretty good too!!!!When Mama and Daddy had Sam; Jake LOVED having his Mommy and Daddy all to himself...I don't, however, think he wanted me to take pictures!? Just a guess...But he posed like a good boy!Bubby (aka Sam/Brother) has some big shoes to fill! When Sam got home, he rather liked the idea of playing in his undies too!Sam (re)teaching Jake how to do a somersault... Mimi and Pop Pop had already taught them both how!Jake had NO problem!Bath time! Gotta have the 'typical' hair styling pictures!!!His horns disintegrated!?!?!But the Mohawk worked!Kinda...Sam being a cheese too!!!!!

That's all for now!
